Portfolio no. 2 has a 33 1/3 rpm audio disc; no. 3 has a audio tape recording on a reel ("Poppy Nogoods all night flight"); no. 4 has an audio tape recording on a reel, and no. 6 has an audio disc.
    Portfolio no. 5 (Oct. 1968) includes material relating to the copyright battle over the image of Picasso's sculpture in Chicago's Daley Center Plaza.
    Portfolio no. 6 (Dec. 1968) has a printed card laid in, stating "The publishers of the Letter Edged in Black Press Inc. regretfully announce that this is the last issue of S.M.S. that will appear ...."

Hirshhorn in Greenwich, Connecticut to Al Lerner in New York City, with postage stamps; nos. 5 and 6 are addressed to Mr. Al Lerner in New York City, with metered postage.
